And the Ambassador of the Year Award Goes to…

Cell C recently held their annual CEO awards night at the Gallagher Convention Centre where dealers, clients, distributors, and staff were treated to an evening of entertainment and glamour. CEO of Cell C, Jose dos Santos, presented a handful of prestigious awards that celebrated performance, high standards, and excellence in service. Among the evening’s big winners was Gavin Varejes, the Executive Chairman of Richmark Holdings who was awarded the Ambassador of the Year award.

Cell C is a leading cellular provider in South Africa and one of the fastest growing players in the competitive cellular market. Between 2012 and 2015, the Cell C user base more than doubled in size, exceeding 20 million subscriptions. In a market heavily dominated by well-established competitors, Cell C has risen as a dynamic and agile South African provider. The key to the group’s success lies in its commitment to core values, customer service and strong leadership. Cell C CEO Jose dos Santos and his predecessor Alan Knott-Craig are seen as instrumental players in the group’s momentum in recent years.

Gavin Varejes – Career Snapshot

Gavin Varejes has successfully operated in the cellular industry for over 20 years. Before founding the Richmark Holdings Group, he took a central part in developing Euro Point Communications SA, a leading South African cellular accessories business, and strengthening its position in the market. He first entered the arena in 1994 through DDM Cellular, which was primarily a cellular importation and distribution business. The Ambassador of the Year award was granted to him in honour of his and Richmark Holding’s ongoing contribution, loyalty, and commitment to the Cell C team.
